Millwork Specialist - Building Materials

A Carter Lumber Millwork Specialist is responsible for fulfilling special orders as requested in a timely and accurate manner.  This is accomplished by producing needed materials, calculating measurements and assembling the product to the customer’s specification.  Adheres to safety regulations when handling material and equipment.  A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.

 Requirements:

• Previous experience in a millwork environment
• General carpentry skills
• Knowledge and expertise with woodworking tools
• Strong attention to detail
• Possess strong mathematic skills to calculate measurements
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Ability to work in a team environment

Responsibilities:

Set-up

• Sets up equipment and material in order to assemble millwork accordingly.  Reviews and analyzes custom orders to ensure proper materials are provided and available.

Production

• Produces millwork based on customer’s design illustrations including products such as moulding, newels and fireplaces mantels.  Operates machinery to cut and shape to specifications.  Utilizes special tools to create intricate details on all custom millwork.  Evaluates finished products to ensure that customer expectations are being met.

Safety

• Adheres to safety requirements when operating tools and equipment.  Handles material in a safe and appropriate manner.  Reports any defects or safety issues immediately.
