Field Specialist

A Kempsville Building Materials (a Division of Carter Lumber) Field Specialist assists the Installed Sales Manager as directed. This role requires a self-motivated individual who is driven to successfully complete projects. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.

Requirements:

• Delivers fill in materials to jobsites
• Performs basic punch list work as required
• Has a general understanding of the project plans and Scope of Work for installed jobs
• Maintains a positive working relationship with customers, sub contractors, suppliers and other employees.
• Promotes job site safety and rectifies any safety concerns immediately
• Communicates daily with Supervisor about the project progress, issues, and other matters related to the project.
• Performs other duties, as directed, including and not limited to, deliveries and pickups to installed jobs

Responsibilities:

• Organization: Utilizes strong organizational skills.
• Communication: Displays strong written and oral communication and listening skills.
• Representation: At all times, represents Kempsville Building Materials in a positive manner, and refrains from speaking negatively about the company, sub contractors, etc. in communicating with customers.
• Interpersonal Skills: Tactful and mature demeanor with well developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with diverse personalities.
• Requirements: Valid VA drivers license, ability to lift 75 lbs., familiar with, and skilled in, the use of basic power and hand tools used in residential construction.
